Birthdays, Sacred Heart, Labor Day...LOTS to catch up on!!

We have had a lot going on here at the Patterson household at the end of the summer. We have been hanging out with our good friends Ellie and John at the Lodge. We even went to the pool to help celebrate Ellwie's 2nd bday! Thanks so much for including us Ellie!!

In the past 2 weeks...Gretchen has had quite a big change. She left the Roehr's daycare...where she has been since she was 8 weeks old...and ventured out into the big world of preschool. She sure does miss the Roehr's, but (I'm happy to say) she is LOVING preschool! I'm so proud of her! It makes me sad to think she is getting so old, but I'm also so proud of her! What a great feeling to have the teacher tell me she is very "cooperative" :) She also started dance lessons today...so can't wait to see some twirls around the house soon :)


For Labor Day, we headed to KC to visit Aunt Mary and Adam & go to our good friend Tommy Reid Bohnen's baptism. We had such a good time visiting with everyone! I must say, the kids were VERY good in the car! I was so impressed...guess this means we can do more road trips :)

On Saturday, we decided to head to the Irish Fest at Crown Plaza. That was probably the best decision we had all weekend. Little did we know, but there was a full on Disney Princess production performing at noon!! After we spotted Rapunzel and Ariel in the crowd, we knew we had to stay...so we got a funnel cake and hot dog (really healthy) to kill some time, then headed over to watch the show! Gretchen was in heaven! She asked Dan & I if this was Disney World!!

While Gretch was mesmerized by the princesses, we took Grady to run through the fountains. I forgot to bring suits (bad mommy)...so we made due with just taking his shirt off :)

Next we headed home for naps and got all dolled up for the baptism! Unfortunately I forgot my camera so this is the only picture I happened to get...

On Sunday, we got ready, did some posing on the steps (at Gretchen's request) and headed to Deana Rose (kind of like a Grant's Farm in KC). The kids really had a blast and the weather was perfect!!

On Sunday morning we finally made it over to the Bohnen's to hang out with our new friend Tommy one more time before we left! I mean seriously...look at these cheeks...

And last buy not least, we celebrate on Monday with our buddy Harrison! What a fun filled weekend we had!

So, it's been a while. I realized after my last post, that I didn't have any other good pics of the multiple parties Gretch had for her 3rd bday...bad Mommy! But she had a GREAT week and is loving every minute of 3 so far :)

In the meantime, the Patterson's and Adcock's packed up and headed down to Gulf Shores for our 2nd Pattercock Vacay! It was soo much fun! I have 626 pics to prove how much fun it was, but I thought I would just leave you with a few of my favs....
We had SUCH a good time! I think everyone was in a depression last week getting back to reality! We had perfect weather, excellent food, and even better company. I hope that this tradition can continue for years to come!!

Gretchen's 3rd Bday - Party #1

Wow does this girl know how to party! She had one celebration for every year old she is! That's right...3 parties! Wild thing! On Sunday, we headed to my parents to celebrate her bday...as well as mine and Mariette's bdays as well. As you can imagine, we really just celebrated hers :) She got lots of new gifts! Like a new bike from Grandma and some new toys from Gigi and Pops. She also got a cool new green chair to sit in to open all of her gifts. She had a blast!
