Father's Day!

We had a great Father's Day weekend with lots of activities....as usual. We celebrated the whole weekend and let Dan do all of his favorite things! The weekend started off a bit shaky when I met Dan at the ER Friday afternoon. He was having intense stomach pains and it was really freaking me out (he's not one to complain about that kind of thing). Turns out after some meds, blood work, and a CT scan, he had some sort of stomach infection. So the next morning we started celebrating! We went to go get the kids at my parents and ran lots of errands! Sam's was included...where Dan got to do his favorite thing...eat SAMPLES! After a few more stops, we took the kids home for naps and started cleaning up the House (another one of Dan's favorite things...not kidding) for Sunday night...when were were having everyone over. When the kids woke up we decided to play outside and relax!
We stayed in that night to take it easy, rented a movie, and went to bed early! We woke up bright and early Sunday to go to Church and Murdoch Perk for breakfast!!
Next we hit up the City Museum! We went once before and the outside was closed. Ever since, Dan has been dying to go back! So off we went! I only had 2 minor heart attacks...so that was good! Something about being up really high and crossing bridges with see-through bottoms just doesn't appeal to me. But Dan LOVED it! And so did the kids...so I guess I'll just get over it :)
Here is where one of my heart attacks hit! My almost 3 year old really wanted to try and cross this pond on a pipe! It was all older boys I saw doing it, but Dan convinced me to let her give it a go. I'm very proud to say she crossed PERFECTLY! I was a bit surprised...I thought for sure she was too young...but she never ceases to amaze me...
Grady LOVED this fountains, but we were quickly scolded for touching them right after this pic...
We finished out the afternoon with a few more fun activities at the City Museum...we literally could have stayed for days!
Finally, Sunday night we had the Adcock's and Patterson over for dinner. Of course that meant the kids got to play outside in their pool!
All in all, we had a fabulous weekend! So glad it ended MUCH better than it started :) Happy Father's Day to Danny-boy, my Dad, my Father-in-Law, & Grandaddy! We had a great time celebrating with you all!!

LOTS to catch up on...

We have been very busy in the Patterson household and have lots to catch you up on! First things first...Memorial Day! We had a great time getting in lots of swimming time at Gigi, Pops, and Grandma's house! We soaked up the rays on Sunday and Monday. We also made it to the zoo and had some backyard fun as well. Got to take advantage of "Mommy stay-home Days" as Gretchen calls them....break my heart...wish I had more of them :(

Next up...Gretchen's last Little Gym class of the season! She loved it, but can't say she learned too much. She not-listened to the teacher as much the last class as she did the first class :) But she definitely looked forward to it each week. Especially since her best-neighbor pal was in the class too!! Ava and Gretch had a great time playing together :)

And last but certainly not least...our road trip to KC! We actually went for a friends wedding (which was AWESOME), but also ended up visiting old friends and Dan's sister Mary! So it was weekend packed with fun. Unfortunately I didn't bring my "mom" purse, so I couldn't fit my camera and have no pics from the wedding. However, I did manage to haul it out for some of our other outings. We left early Friday morning so we could get there for lunch. Dan was dying to go to Oklahoma Joe's famous BBQ for lunch. So Mary was nice enough to meet us there as we rolled into town! (Oh and forgot to mention we bought a DVD player for the car for all our road trips this summer...best $100 I ever spent :))
After some time at Mary's pool and some naps, we headed to the Bohnen's for a BBQ! Katie due in about a month with baby Tommy and we were soooo happy we got to hang out with them and see all of his baby stuff! She is looking great! I'm hoping my kids didn't totally freak her out :( They were a bit on the wild side :)

Then Saturday morning we woke up bright and early, got ready, and headed out for a girls day of getting our nails done. Grady, Dan and Adam headed to Adam's house to be men...and then we all met for lunch before the wedding. Mary and Adam babysat for us which we cannot thank them enough for! I know my babies had SUCH a great time with them!

On Sunday we stopped by Mizzou to take Mares out to lunch. We discovered that Grady has the same obsession with ranch that all his Adcock family has! (sorry megpetes!)

And that my friends is all! I need to start updating more often so these posts aren't so long! We have lots of fun summer plans ahead, so I'm sure I'll have lots to write about and take pictures of! Have a great week!
